Safety and quality certificates for our beds
Types of certificates and what they confirm:
The following certificates confirm that our beds have undergone a series of specialised tests assessing their strength, stability and user safety. Thanks to these, we know that our products meet current regulations and offer the highest level of protection. Our products are certified by a highly reputable institution: the Inspection Institute.
Clean and safe lacquers
EN 71-3
Guarantees that the lacquers and other finishes used on the bed do not contain harmful chemicals that could migrate and pose a health risk, especially for children.
FSC Certificate (Forest Stewardship Council)
Confirms that the wood used in our beds comes from forests managed in a sustainable and responsible way, with respect for the environment and local communities. By choosing LANO, you support ecological forestry.

Standard for bunk beds and high beds
PN-EN 747-1+A1:2015-08
Applies to the safety and durability of bunk beds and high beds (over 60 cm from the floor), particularly beds longer than 140 cm and up to 120 cm wide.
- Safe construction: All edges and corners are rounded with no burrs or sharp parts.
- Strength of components: The bed is tested for vertical and horizontal loads to ensure that components such as safety rails and the base are not damaged or deformed. For example, safety rails are tested with a downward force of 1000 N (approx. 100 kg).
- Safe distances and gaps: Moving parts (e.g. foldable frames) are designed for safety – distances are up to 7 mm or between 12–25 mm to prevent the risk of trapping.
- Ladder stability: The ladder is subjected to rigorous load tests, including a static vertical load of 1200 N (approx. 120 kg) on each step.
- User warnings: States that bunk beds and upper bunks are not suitable for children under 6 years of age. The user manual also includes other important safety warnings.
- Information about the mattress: The recommended maximum mattress height is 12 cm.

Standard for low beds (floor level)
PN-EN 1725:2024-04
This standard covers requirements for safety, strength and durability for all types of beds.
- No sharp edges or burrs: All parts that the user may come into contact with during normal use must not have burrs, sharp edges, or open ends.
- Safe moving mechanisms: If the bed has moving parts (e.g. foldable frames), the distances between them must be safe – up to 7 mm or between 12–25 mm to prevent finger injuries.
- Stability: The bed is tested to ensure it does not tip over, confirming the stability of the structure.
- Strength and durability: The bed is tested for static strength, for example by applying a force of 1400 N (approx. 140 kg) to the most critical points for 30 seconds.
Furniture for domestic use (applies to SOFINO model)
PN-EN 12520:2015
This certificate confirms that the SOFINO model meets additional and more detailed requirements and is perfectly suited to the challenges of everyday use in the home.
Furniture for commercial and public use (applies to SOFINO model)
PN-EN 16139:2013
This is an extension of the PN-EN 12520:2015 standard and is essential for the SOFINO model if it is to be used in high-traffic environments such as hotels. The difference lies in the significantly higher number of test cycles (e.g. the backrest is tilted 100,000 times). This demonstrates increased strength and durability under intensive use and provides a guarantee of reliability even in demanding commercial settings.
